Aannnnnnnd it’s another busy week in the Charlotte art community.
If you missed the CPCC Friends & Family Market, don’t worry! There is still some great artwork available from some of your favorite Charlotte-area artists. Best part? All art is priced less than $50; 40% commission from works sold go toward the Gallery’s programming and 10% will support student groups within the visual art department. Start your art collection (or your holiday shopping) today. The market will be open in Ross Gallery II from 9 am – 5 pm on weekdays and 12 pm to 6 pm on Saturdays.
Head to the Light Factory tonight at 6:30 pm for a preview of their upcoming auction. Light hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served during casual discussion of featured auction artwork. They will also raffle off a pair of auction tickets!
Also on Thursday, Jerald Melberg Gallery, in partnership with the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, will present a lecture November 6 by Nick Korniloff, Show Director and Executive Vice President of Art Miami. Korniloff will discuss The Art Fair Phenomenon. A reception will be held at 6 pm, and the lecture will begin at 7 pm.
After that, you can head to the opening at LaCa Projects from 6-9pm for New-York based artist Cristina Toro. Check out Toro’s vibrant paintings based on her childhood in Puerto Rico. We’re excited to see the latest works from this talented artist!
At 11am, Felicia van Bork will present a talk about monotype collages in her How To series, currently on view at Jerald Melberg Gallery. If you can’t make the Coffee & Conversation, you can still check out Felicia’s work, on view through Dec 27.
