We have marked our calendars for one of Spring’s best parties: Studio Party 15, benefiting the McColl Center for Art + Innovation. This great celebration honors our region’s finest artist residency program & the many regional, national, and international artists who have benefited from its facilities. The event will take place on Saturday, April 18 from 7-10 p.m.
Over its 15 year history, the Center has hosted more than 300 artists-in-residence. The new crop of artists arrive on April 6, just in time for the party, and they’re a special group because they’re all from within North and South Carolina. This effort to provide workspace for regional artists is emblematic of the Center’s drive to support artists from our own backyard as much as those known on a national level, and we can get behind that.
The Low Down
- A casual “open studio” concept with the galleries hung with art for sale; sales benefit the center. Artwork on view is by current and past Artists-in-Residence and the artists receive a percentage of the retail price too! The artists’ studios will be custom designed by each of their residents as well.
- Tickets are available here and VIP and Early Entry get first dibs on the art for sale.
- Complimentary cocktails and gourmet tapas.
