This Week – March 30th – April 4th

There are a couple of interesting and fun events happening around Charlotte this week.

Head down to Rock Hill tonight for a Winthrop University Gallery Talk with Jennie Carlisle. 7pm Rutledge 119.

Carlisle is the juror for the 27th Annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition. She is also the production curator for Elsewhere in Greensboro, NC. As an art historian and curator, her focus is on situation driven aesthetics and radical ampersanding. Her curatorial projects have included contributions to “More Love: Art, Politics and Sharing,” “Counter Lives: Portraiture in Contemporary Art” and “John Wesley’s Boeing in Context” at the Ackland Art Museum.

Head up to Davidson College Galleries on Thursday for Common Hour Coffee  (11am – noon) with Cort Savage and take a look at his new show Interiorities: A Decade of Inevitable Forms.

Elder Gallery

On Wednesday the Bechtler Young Visionaries Program is hosting a reception and talk with artist Harry Folsom at Elder Gallery.  This is a private event that is only open to members of the Young Visionaries program, but we’ve chosen to include it here so that you know about the benefits of becoming a member of groups like this! If you are interested in learning more about joining the Bechtler Young Visionaries program please click here.

Check out this new series of social events: Art+Aperitif at LeMeridien Hotel featuring the work of the winners of the 2015 ArtPop competition.

Harry Folsom

And if you missed the private gallery talk on Wednesday, never fear… you can visit South End for the opening at Elder Gallery featuring the work of New York Artist, Harry Folsom. Then join in the regular monthly gallery crawl!
