This Week May 25 – May 31

We hope you are with family or friends today, enjoying a day off and grilling up some delicious food. We’re making an avocado watermelon salad. Believe us, it’s delish. Later in the week though, we will be out and about enjoying some of the amazing art events around Charlotte.

Looking to get outside for a little art-related fun tonight? Check out the Mint Museum’s Fourth Annual Party in the Park. This free event takes place on the front lawn of the Mint Museum’s Randolph Location (2730 Randolph Road). It’s a fun-filled, family-friendly event, benefiting the Mint’s Annual Fund. Pack a picnic and participate in outdoor games set to summer music. The event includes an opportunity to check out the permanent collection, while enjoying a cash bar, food trucks, and a movie once the sun goes down. The event is free, but registration is preferred (with a suggested $10 donation to the Annual Fund).

Elder Art Gallery is open Wednesday – Friday from 10am-5:30pm and Saturday from 10am-2pm. This is the last week to catch the Fourth Annual Juried Exhibition Carolina’s Got Art. There were more than 3,000 entries and juror Eliza Rathbone, previously Chief Curator at The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC, selected the works on view as well as the award recipients.
