Hosted by the Noda Neighborhood, this latest installment of the casual, salon-style discussion series will focus on art.  The conversation will be led by two UNC Charlotte professors:

  • Dr. Angela Rajagopalan, UNCC: How artistic practices changed after the Spanish conquest of the Aztec Empire
  • Thomas Schmidt, UNCC: Imperfections that make handcrafted objects so special and ceramics in architectural spaces

Coffee & Conversation Panel Discussion on Robert Motherwell

A panel discussion on the life and art of Robert Motherwell and the literature and music that strongly influenced him. Panelists:

  • Jennifer Edwards, PhD, Curator, Bechtler Museum of Modern Art
  • Stuart Johnson, PhD, Collector and Scholar
  • Jerald Melberg, President, Jerald Melberg Gallery

Project Art Aid: Second Chance Soiree
LACA Projects (1429 Bryant Street), 4 pm

At this 9th installment of Queen City Soup, Charlotte’s best micro-grant program, three individuals/organizations will pitch their projects to the audience to gain their vote of support. Whoever gets the most votes will get ALL of the money from ticket sales (tickets available here)! Rae Legrone, Oliver Lewis, and El Alma de la Luna have participated in previous Queen City Soups but have come up short; all deserve this second chance to win money to support their community-based projects!
