DAILY: Mythbusters

By: Megan Walsh, contributor to HappeningsCLT

Tonight is the night! Be entertained, have fun, AND get the low down on immigration.

If you have been hearing about undocumented people, families or kids around the water cooler…or worse, from the mouths of elected and aspiring politicians, come out to the Mythbusters Edition Art Exhibit brought to you by the OBRA Collective. OBRA (Observe, Bridge, Respond Art) Collective is a group of Latino, immigrant, and ally artists who create art celebrating Latino culture and reflecting upon the immigrant experience in North Carolina. Tonight, the work of 21 artists will be featured. Their artistic views are guaranteed to highlight a different perspective and dispel common myths about immigrants.

In addition to the visual art, enjoy poetry readings and fantastic live music by local South American Quartet, Patabamba. Best of all, the event is FREE!

Be a part of the Charlotte community who wants to understand what it means to be an immigrant in this city – someone who risks everything in hopes of having a better life.
