Meticulously recreated from the series of three bedroom paintings that the artist created in 1888-1889 the listing reads, “I’m charging $10 for no other reason than that I need to buy paint. However, I will be happy to provide you with tickets to my exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago.”
This is not the first time that the bedroom has been replicated. It was installed as an exhibition at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam in 2011 and was recreated digitally as a part of the Van Gogh Alive exhibition that traveled to Charlotte’s Discovery Place in 2014. But this is the first time you can actually sleep in it!
The listing is a part of the new Van Gogh exhibition on display at the Art Institute from Sunday, February 14th – May 10th. The room itself is located a short walk from the Museum in the River North neighborhood.
