There are lots of great artist opportunities right now. Here you will find one national opportunity and a few local ones currently on our radar.

The Light Factory 8th Juried Annuale
The Annuale is an international photography competition that showcases challenging and inventive new work from photographers and artists throughout the international photographic community. The exhibition will feature 4-6 photographers, each of whom will be represented by 5-7 images.
When: Entries due July 15; accepted artwork delivered by August 31, Exhibition on view September 9 -October 14, 2016.
Criteria: All photographic techniques and approaches are welcome. This can include works that stretch the boundaries of the assumed definitions of photographic-based media.
Entry Fee: $35 for a series of 5-7 images. Artists may submit up to 2 applications.

American Art Today at The Bascom Center for the Visual Arts, Highlands, NC
What: A juried exhibition of 2-D and 3-D works of art.
When: Entries due July 31; Exhibition October 1-December 11, 2016
Criteria: This year’s subject is “What is American Art?”, which will be answered by the juror, Dr. William U. Eiland, Director of the Georgia Museum of Art, through the selected works.
Prizes:  $5,500 in cash awards will be awarded at the discretion of the Juror: Best of Show ($1,600); 1st ($1,200); 2nd ($1,000); 3rd ($900) and 4th ($800)

McColl Center Members Show
The Member Show is a non-juried, salon-style exhibition
When: Entries due August 4 and 5; Exhibition on view August 13 – August 27, with a reception on August 13.
Criteria: The exhibition is open to any current McColl Center member. One artwork per member. Maximum size for 2-D art is 20” x 20”; maximum weight is 20 pounds. Maximum size for 3D is 20”(l) x 20”(w) x 35”(h); maximum weight is 40 pounds.
Prizes: People’s Choice Award ($300)

Princeton Arts Fellowships
What: Two year fellowship
When: Two consecutive academic years (September 1, 2017 – July 1, 2019)
Criteria: Fellowship will be awarded to an artist demonstrating extraordinary promise in any area of artistic practice and teaching. Applicants should be early career poets, novelists, choreographers, playwrights, designers, performers, directors, filmmakers, composers, and performance artists, etc., who would find it beneficial to spend two years teaching (one course per semester) and working in an artistically vibrant university community.One need not be a U.S. citizen to apply.  Holders of Ph.D. degrees from Princeton are not eligible to apply.
Compensation/Benefit: An $80,000 a year stipend is provided.
How to Apply: Submit via an online application by September 19, 2016, 11:59 p.m. EST. All applicants must submit a resume or curriculum vitae, a personal statement of 500-750 words about how you would hope to use the two years of the fellowship at this moment in your career, contact information for three references, and work samples.
