Do you already have guests tonight? If so, you might want to bring them over to the Mint Museum tonight (open until 9pm) to see a new exhibition at the Randolph location, Leo Twiggs: Requiem for Mother Emanuel. Nine paintings will be on display by this accomplished South Carolina native.
Twiggs’ work often deals with the South’s racial history. He produced this recent series as a way of processing the tragic Charleston shooting in June 2015. The nine paintings correspond to the nine victims of the senseless shooting. This exhibition is timely, beautiful, challenging…and one that we think everyone should see. Twiggs’ work reminds us that art can foster dialogue, and hopefully, help us heal. We’re thrilled that the Mint Museum jumped on the opportunity to host this exhibition and to help lead a needed conversation in our community.
