If you are concerned about federal funding for the arts (which trickles down to state and city level), become a (free) member of Americans for the Arts Action Fund. The Americans for the Arts Action Fundis the only national arts advocacy organization using 100% of their time, money, and political clout to advancing the arts in America. Their goals are to stand up for every child’s right to a comprehensive, high quality arts education; promote public policies that provide individuals and families affordable access to all forms of the arts; rally national support against attacks to the arts; and build political influence to ensure bipartisan support for the arts.
The Americans for the Arts Action Fund has a great Action Center section on their website, with a variety of useful links including this one which will draft and send emails to your representatives about specific issues including H.R. 5538, the Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, which would provide $149.849 million in support of the National Endowment for the Arts.
