There are tons of opportunities currently on our radar, from solo exhibitions to artist residencies, in NC and around the country.

What: Call for Exhibition Proposals
Where: Spartanburg Museum of Art
Details: The museum is seeking exhibitions for 2018 and 2019 season. They are interested in all types of artwork that address contemporary issues and concerns, use traditional materials in unusual ways, and elevate visitor experiences to new levels of participation and engagement.
Eligibility: Individual, collective or group of artists, 18 years of age and older, located regionally, nationally, or internationally.
Application fee: $35
Deadline: September 30, 2017

What: Call for Artists for exhibitions
Where: Waterworks Visual Arts Center, Salisbury, NC
Details: Waterworks exhibits contemporary fine art and craft by professional artists. Submissions are reviewed within a 60-90 day period following two annual deadlines (September 30 and January 30). The exhibition calendar is planned approximately 18-24 months in advance.
Eligibility: Applications are accepted from established and emerging artists working in two- or three-dimensions.
Deadline: September 30 (and January 30).
How to apply: Electronic submissions are not accepted. Artists must MAIL submissions.

What: Public Art Project – New Downtown Mixed-Use Parking Garage Project
Where: Durham, NC
Details: The City of Durham, North Carolina, is seeking Candidates with experience in creating public art that fosters a unique sense of place to design, fabricate, and install permanent public art piece(s) to be displayed on the New Downtown Mixed-Use Parking Garage Project. Construction of the garage will begin in October of 2017 and is expected to be completed in January of 2019. One opportunity is for a Gateway project – an installation at the North East corner of the facade at North Mangum and West Morgan streets. The second opportunity is for an art installation along the Southern facade in the location of stretched fabric banners (9 at 21.25′ wide x 50′ long each) on the top of three floors and/or landscape screens at the lower level. This installation should reinforce a pedestrian friendly streetscape. The City of Durham will invest up to $100,000 in this project for public art.  The Public Art budget will be prioritized with the “Gateway” location as primary.
Eligibility: Candidates must be professional artists or designers, 18 years of age or older, eligible to work in the US.

What: Greenhill Center for NC Art Artist Submission
Where: Greensboro, NC
Details: Greenhill has posted a simple online form to review artist’s work for possible inclusion in future exhibitions. Submissions are reviewed quarterly and they request that you do NOT check on your application.
Eligibility: Candidates must be professional artists, 18 years of age or older, residing in North Carolina.

Studio Workspace Residency
Women’s Studio Workshop, Rosendale, NY
Details: The Studio Workspace Residency is a four- to six-week opportunity for artists to create new work and fully immerse themselves in WSW’s supportive environment. This residency provides artists with time and space – an uninterrupted period to live and work away from the stresses of daily life. Artists may choose to work in any one or more studios: intaglio, letterpress, papermaking, screenprinting, photography, or ceramics. Residents have 24/7 studio access. Awardees must pay $200/week in exchange for on-campus housing.
Eligibility: Artists at any stage of their career are invited to apply. An outside jury chooses the residency recipients.
Deadline: Spring applications are due midnight on October 15; residency occurs the year following application, February through June. Fall applications are due midnight on April 1; residency occurs year following application, September through January.

 Call for entries –  Illuminate 
Where: Center for Fine Art Photography, Fort Collins, CO
Details: All subject matter, genres, capture types, post production processes and sizes are eligible for selection. Juror is Peggy Sue Amison, Artistic Director for East Wing, a platform for international photography founded in Doha, Qatar.
Eligibility: This exhibition is open to all photographers world wide, both amateur and professional. The Center invites photographers working in all mediums, styles and schools of thought to participate.
