You may have heard that the Joan Mitchell Foundation just released their list of 2017 grant recipients. We were thrilled to see two names we recognized on the list, and both are associated with our very own McColl Center for Art + Innovation. Here’s what Armando Bellmas, Director of Marketing, Media and Engagement for the Center, told us.
- Rodrigo Valenzuela, who is not in residence, currently has work on view in the solo exhibition New Land, which visitors can see in the third floor galleries.
- Antoine Williams, formerly of Charlotte and now in Greensboro, also received a grant. He’ll be working on a project with Marcus Kiser at McColl Center this winter as part of Their ArtPlace “A Tale of Two Cities” project.
Congratulations to these artists!
