Elsewhere, Greensboro, NC
Annually, 35 creatives are selected to collectively live and work within Elsewhere creating new work for the Living Museum. Residencies include collaboration and curatorial guidance with Elsewhere’s team of staff, interns, community members, and peer residents. Residencies are available during 5 sessions, each 2-4 weeks long with up to 7 residents at a time. Residents receive room & board, material, tool, and equipment access, as well as public engagement and programming opportunities, documentation, promotion, online and in-museum representation of work. The Residency program is partially subsidized with a nominal fee. Learn more.

You may also apply for one of Elsewhere’s 10 artist Fellowships in support of the month-long residency through a travel stipend and $1000 honorarium. Five Fellowships will support creatives raised or based in the Southern US through the Southern Constellations Fellowship. Five Exchange Fellowships support connectivity between Elsewhere and an annually selected Metropol (for 2019, the city is Philadelphia).

Public Art Submissions, 
Arts & Science Council, Charlotte

There are several opportunities for public art submissions through the Arts & Science Council, including for the Mecklenburg County Pearl Street Park, a commission for the Charlotte Convention Center Expansion, a commission for the Bojangles’ Coliseum-Ovens Auditorium Link Connector, and a work at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport Terminal Lobby. The first three are due June 1, the last due June 15.

Locust Projects Experimental Exhibition Proposals
Locust Projects in Miami, FL, is seeking exhibition proposals, with the aim of enabling local, national, and international visual artists to experiment with new ideas and media. Artists are encouraged to propose experimental, site-specific projects that are engaging and risk-taking that extend an artist’s practice in concept, scale, and/or scope. Proposals are accepted year-round and reviewed on a rolling basis. Project budget, stipend, housing provided. Two spaces are available for work; see floorplans here.
